I bought this dishwasher in October. It would be much better if more of the tines would fold down both the upper and lower racks so you can get larger dishes in better. It does a really good job of washing. The tray in the very upper part for silverware is not as good. needs to be deeper. The silverware basket is awful, To flimsy.

We just replaced a Bosch dishwasher with a new Bosch dishwasher. In this climate of hard-to-get appliances we would not settle on anything less, so we searched and waited till we found what we wanted. It is as quiet and efficient as we expected. I purchased this dishwasher to replace a old Sears one and so far I am having issues. The short manual that came with it does not explain enough about settings or how to load it properly. I went online and look at other manual and found much more useful information there. I think for price this brand cost, the company SHOULD also give customer the better manual.

Can we dry more?

I purchased the Bosch 500 from Home Depot. I know a young man who works there and when I was in the market for a new dishwasher, he said Bosch was hands down the best. I enjoy every aspect of my dishwasher except the drying. I have tried different settings to see if they will dry more thoroughly, but not luck. When I spoke to the young man about the issue, he said" Bosch is different as they use water and steam to dry the dishes, not a heating element." I believe the 800 model of Bosch had a better drying system butI I'm not certain. If I had known the drying would be average, I would have saved a few more hundred dollars and purchased the 800 model. The dishwasher does a great job other than the drying issue. And I would purchase Bosch again.

Ok so I very rarely leave a review but in this case I just had to because some one at Bosch truly cares that there Dishwashers actually work the way there supposed to and more way way way more ,the model 500 holds a lot of dirty dishes and when its run on the standard auto cycle not even the heavy duty it cleans everything and dries everything perfect,compaired to our old dishwasher ( it was a W-ir---ool)which by the way sprung a leak and did $10 grand worth of damage,this Bosch is in the major leagues and our old dishwasher was t-ball.I'am a guy and I love my Dishwasher .

This dishwasher is the best I have ever had in its cleaning ability. There are no baked on crumbs, nothing left in the bottom of glasses, no streaks. and the third shelf is great. I use it for silverware to give me more space for large items on the bottom shelf.

It comes with adjustable options set to defaults you might not like. The directions to change the defaults that came with my machine are unintelligible. I don't like the lack of a heating element inside the machine. I have to leave the door open and the racks pulled out overnight or for hours during the day for the dishes to dry. Very inconvenient. The top "third rack," is plastic and does not itself dry. I always have to wipe it down, top and bottom, before removing clean dishes from lower racks, or the dishes in those racks get dripped on. I don't like the ways the tines are arranged in the racks. I swear I can't get as many dishes/pans in the machine as in my old Kenmore. I'm running it almost every day instead of twice a week, and I'm just one person. I would not buy this model again.

No need to rub a sponge on anything! I run water over it, so large chunks wash down sink, then load it. Peanut butter comes off utensils when I do nothing but load it! Love the pop open door. Most items are dry by morning.
